Alternative rock. Four decades of songwriting. First streaming release.

I'm The Real Zenogram - guitarist, producer, and songwriter building music on contrasts: intensity and space, tradition and risk, catchy hooks and sonic experimentation.

I started writing songs at 16 with a 4-track cassette recorder, learning to turn limitations into creativity. That early work kept me connected to what matters—crafting the song itself, the songwriting, before moving to production tricks and fireworks.
My process is intuitive and iterative. I work a song—often starting with acoustic guitar and vocals—until it feels established. Then I let it have a voice, follow where it wants to go, which can take me in unexpected directions. Kate Bush once said songs take a life of their own and you need to follow where they’re taking you. I believe that. I also believe in Brian Eno’s concept of embracing random processes and accidents, so unpredictable layers can emerge. The best productions surprise even their creators.
Previously, I co-produced Pindar’s Apes’ debut album (2012), blending post-punk, folk, and blues—described by one journalist as “music for grown-ups.” Currently producing their second album.
As The Real Zenogram, I’m building alternative rock that draws from Peter Gabriel’s adventurous spirit, The Cure’s melancholy textures, and the electronics and post-punk of the late ’80s and early ’90s. Songs that challenge and connect—for listeners who appreciate music that takes risks, and for fellow artists and producers who understand that great music comes from following where the song wants to go, not where formulas say it should.
